Glen Fern Woods is first and foremost a nature reserve for wildlife and plants. The 10.7-acre woodland is a mix of both native and non-native trees, with a long-term goal being to increase the amount of native trees and maintain and develop the ecosystem. Wildlife includes red squirrels, the elusive pine martens, frogs, foxes, rabbits, and a wide array of bird life, including the magnificent buzzards.Â
Glen Fern Woods is located within a valley, with two streams running through it. The varied, natural terrain can be traversed via the numerous trail paths outlined within it. Amenities to enhance your traversal of the woods include bridges, a fairy trail, swings, a pond, and a large herb garden.
